popsicle
Female - Mixed Breed
Age: November 2024 | Weight: 17kg
This sweet girl has already been through far more than any dog should endure. We were first contacted after someone saw her in San Vicente, struggling with what appeared to be a severe injury to her back right leg. It was swollen, covered in open wounds, and she wasn’t using it at all. Sadly, seeing an injured dog left to fend for itself is not uncommon in that town. Popsicle wandered off again… unnoticed and unaided. Then, a few days later, someone spotted her again — this time with a horrific burn wound on her right side. That was the turning point. We were called, and Popsicle was immediately brought to our vet.
The vet believes the burn was caused by hot water (thankfully, not oil — a small mercy in an otherwise terrible situation). As for her leg, we still don’t know what caused the injury — possibly hit or run over. It was extremely swollen, but nothing is broken. There were also some scrapes on her back left leg, but she can use it well. Popsicle has already finished her vetting protocols and everything has healed; skin and legs!! You’d never even know she had an injury to her back legs.
Despite everything, she remains gentle and trusting — a true puppy at heart. It’s heartbreaking that this kind of neglect and abuse is still happening every day. But Popsicle is one of the lucky ones, because someone did take action. She is deserves a loving home where she can be cherished. She is a fairly social dog and quite playful with other dogs. She seems smart so would most likely learn new things quickly.
