Cachetóna
Female-terrier mix
Age: March 2020 | Weight: 10kg
Cachetóna was spotted in La Cruz by a volunteer who was passing by on the highway. She was actually laying in the road and she was concerned she would be run over. After going to her, it was determined she had an owner and she lived at his mechanic shop. The owner was talked to and relinquished her to our care. He didn’t care about her one way or another. She is good with people after she has some time to warm up. She’s around multiple dogs all day but really does not like to be with them. She will snap at any dog who gets in her space or her face. We think her best fit would be a quiet home, no kids, unless they’re teens or older and ideally no other dogs or possibly an older dog. She is quite annoyed by other dogs and has nothing to do with them.
She did test positive to heartworm. She was treated following the US heartworm treatment guidelines, including injections. She tested negative to heartworm in September! She is now ready for adoption. Her most ideal home would be one or less other dogs. She is fine but gets a bit crabby when any other dogs get into her space. For that same reason we will seek a home without small children.
